Wake up to the choices you make

Matt Moon

Every moment, we are perceiving and judging everything!  We are making choices based on those perceptions. This is very dangerous generally!

Perceptions are NOT reality but we believe they are! If you put 25 people in a room all looking at the same thing - you can guarantee that there will be 25 different versions of the truth - and every person TRULY BELIEVES that what they saw is the truth! We have to learn to live with the fact that we don't see reality - we perceive, judge and CREATE our own reality.

This mean we are responsible for the way we deal with everything!  Remember all the stories you hear of concentration camp victims who survived and what they did differently from others? It was their ‘attitude’, which is another word for perceptions. They had a reason to live - they created a reason to live. They focused on that reason all the time.  They chose not to let the amygdala take over; or give in to the negative self talk.

Becoming conscious of the way you perceive all that happens to you and the environment you are in gives you great control. While you are unaware of the way you perceive events and people in your life, you are at the mercy of this 'imagination' or judgment. As soon as you realise what you are doing - you have a choice.

Choose wisely and focus on what is good in everything. Focus on perceiving the benefits or strengths or positive elements. Keep focusing on those. Speak only about those and stop droning on about all the problems you face and difficulties that attack you!  It's a choice.  Discuss difficulties and challenges for a while to seek some resolution but then drop it!

Everything in life is a choice - even choosing to change the way you make choices!

Tell us your thoughts!
